Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas Sunday, September 1 as a Category 5 hurricane and is currently sitting as a Category 3 off the coast of Florida. Hurricane conditions are expected to arrive in Florida this evening, September 3, and worsen along the Georgia and South Carolina coasts through Wednesday, September 4. Impacts into North Carolina and southeast Virginia are expected Thursday into Friday, September 5 and 6.
Expect fall fruit and vegetable production in Georgia and North Carolina growing areas to be affected by the high winds and heavy rainfall Dorian is forecast to bring. Markon will continue to monitor and update as more information becomes available.
