Green bell pepper supplies are increasing; markets are easing. Red bell peppers markets are higher due lighter volumes crossing in Nogales this week. Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green and Red Bell Peppers are available.

Green Bells

• Mexican supplies are rebounding due to improved weather conditions
  • Quality is good with occasional bruising and scarring concerns
  • All sizes are available
• Florida volume remains steady/light as they transition from winter to spring crops
  • The new fields have good quality however older fields have smaller/choice grade fruit
  • Expect overall supply to increase in early March as more crops come online
• Expect slightly lower prices this week

Red Bells

• Mexico supply is snug due to cooler evening temperatures slowing the ripening process

• Quality is average with inconsistent color the main issue
• Gold and orange bells remain limited this season due to less acreage planted
• Canadian greenhouses are expected to start early April
• Expect slightly higher markets over the next two weeks
