Value‑added broccoli florets out of the Arizona/California desert growing region are currently exhibiting quality challenges tied to recent heat stress. Reported defects include dehydration, pin rot, mildew pressure, and other heat‑related issues, which are impacting overall pack quality and shelf-life potential.

Markon Ready‑Set‑Serve (RSS) Broccoli Florets will be temporarily substituted with packer-label product. This measure will remain in place in the short‑term, as better-quality, raw product broccoli from the Salinas Valley is expected to be harvested before the end of this week.

Ordering for quick turns is recommended, and, as always, cold-chain management throughout the supply chain is critical to maximizing quality and shelf-life.
