Tomato production is transitioning further south into winter growing regions during the month of January. Markon First Crop Tomatoes are available.

• The Florida growing region of Ruskin/Palmetto is winding down; the majority of harvests are shipping from the Naples, Immokalee, and Homestead regions
  • Round mature green tomato quality is very good; all sizes are available
  • Roma tomatoes have moderate availability; jumbo/extra large sizes dominate the crop
  • Grape tomatoes are abundant
• Mexican production has transitioned from Baja and East Mexico into the western mainland regions of Guaymas and Culiacan; supplies will increase over the next several weeks
  • Round, Roma and grape tomato quality is good
  • All sizes are available
  • Cherry tomatoes are limited as lower acreage was planted
• Expect round tomato markets to increase slightly; Roma and grape tomato prices will remain steady
