Supplies are increasing in Florida due to favorable weather conditions. Markon First Crop (MFC) Tomatoes are available.

  • Florida growers are seeing improved harvests this week in the Ruskin/Palmetto area due to  sunny weather in the 80s
    • Roma, round, cherry, and grape tomato quality is good
    • Large sizes dominate the market as new fields are being harvested
  • Mexico vine-ripe and mature green production will continue to decline through May, the last month of the season
    • Round tomato quality is good; medium-size fruit is most abundant
    • Western Mexico has a mix of new crop/existing Roma acreage; jumbo and extra-large sizes are most plentiful
    • Grape tomato production will transition to Baja over the next month; quality may dip over the next few weeks
  • The California desert region will begin limited round tomato production starting in mid-May
  • Expect markets to increase slightly this week
