Oxnard/Santa Maria, California
- Markon First Crop Strawberries are available
- Strong winds are slowing plant growth and causing quality challenges
- Demand has increased as the Florida and Mexican seasons are ending
- Quality is good, although some yields are exhibiting significant signs of bronzing due to strong winds
- Elevated markets are forecast for the next 7-10 days
- Expect potential allocations in both growing regions
Coachella, California
- Supplies are becoming limited
- Quality is good: green shoulders are being reported in some lots
- Expect the Coachella growing season to come to an end in two to three weeks due to high temperatures
Salinas/Watsonville
- Production has begun; volume is expected to steadily increase over the next three to four weeks
- Quality is good for early season fruit
- Very limited quantities have begun to ship out of the Salinas/Watsonville growing region
Mexico and Florida
- Both seasons are ending as high temperatures are causing quality issues
- Supplies remain available, but quality is diminishing; substandard berries being sold to local markets
