UPDATE: STRAWBERRIES

February 23, 2026

Strawberries from Central Mexico (loading in South Texas) are tightening; the region is experiencing border crossing delays. Florida yields will fall for the first half of the week as low overnight temperatures are delaying growth.

Santa Maria/Oxnard, California

  • Markon First Crop (MFC) Strawberries are available in Santa Maria
  • Yields are slowly increasing in both regions as growers continue culling water-damaged fruit
  • Quality is good; small size and white shoulders have been reported
  • Maintaining the cold chain will be vital for shelf-life; Markon recommends ordering for quick turns
  • Expect strong demand and elevated prices
