After a full day of blockades on Monday, protesters allowed some trucks through border crossings last night. The protest is expected to continue today as The National Association of Carriers (ANTAC) and The National Front for the Rescue of Mexican Agriculture (FNRCM) appear steadfast to get government response.
- Monday blockades created significant delays in freight movement, logistics, and customs operations, affecting all supply chains flowing into the USA
- ANTAC and FNRCM appear steadfast for Mexican government response to numerous issues including highway insecurity, cargo hijacking, extortion, unfair freight rates, low crop prices, and unfair new national water laws
- Border closures are expected to continue in South Texas, Nogales, and Baja today and through the rest of the week if the Mexican Government does not intercede
- Suppliers are running out on some items that were previously snug; yellow squash supplies are impacted today
- Markon will continue to monitor and report on Mexican border delays
