UPDATE: LIMES

April 17, 2025

Lime prices are rising amid decreased production and strong demand. Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Limes are available.

Mexico (into South Texas)

  • Mexican production will cease through the weekend in observation of Holy Week; harvests will resume Monday, April 21
  • Demand will further increase next week as the Cinco De Mayo pull begins
  • Current crops are dominated by smaller 200- through 250-count sizes; larger 110- through 175-count sizes are limited and commanding higher prices
  • Quality is good; blanching and oil spotting are occasional issues
  • Expect markets to rise over the next two weeks as demand strengthens

Colombia

  • MFC Limes are available for loading out of Florida
  • Supplies of all sizes are sufficient; crops are dominated by 175- through 230-count fruit
  • Prices are slightly higher with a 10% tariff now in effect on Colombian imports
  • Quality is good; blanching and oil spotting are occasional issues
  • Expect slightly higher prices over the next 7-10 days as demand rises
