Honeydew
Arizona-California Desert Region
- While honeydew fields fared better than cantaloupe crops earlier in the season, the Mosaic virus has spread and now weakened plants
- Production has ended; suppliers are working through remaining inventory to fill orders next week
- Demand for all sizes greatly exceeds available supply
- Until the transition into the San Joaquin Valley, markets will climb
Mexico
- The import season will end over the next two weeks
- Expect inconsistent availability and low overall volume
San Joaquin Valley, California
- Harvesting will begin in a limited manner the week of June 29 and will ramp up after Independence Day
- Markets will remain elevated initially due to strong demand
