• Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine are available; Markon Best Available (MBA) is being substituted sporadically due to low weights
• Recent variable weather patterns in the Salinas Valley, including low temperatures, humid days, and rain, have resulted in uneven head development and overall lower field weights
• Iceberg and romaine weights are forecast to continue trending lower over the next two weeks
  • Some iceberg fields have developed:
    • Lightweight and undersized heads
    • Dense heads with large frames
    • Puffy heads with large frames
  • Romaine quality issues persist in many lots; fog burn, internal burn, and fringe burn are reducing harvestable supplies
• Green leaf quality remains strong; sporadic burn issues are being avoided or trimmed at harvest points
• Expect slightly higher iceberg and romaine markets through May; green leaf will hold steady
