California

• Markon First Crop (MFC) Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine Lettuces are available; Markon Best Available (MBA) is being substituted as needed.
• The harvesting transition from the Arizona-California desert growing region to the Salinas and Santa Maria Valleys is complete; however, demand far exceeds current supply levels

• Additional rainfall earlier this week has further challenged quality and lowered yields
• Quality ranges from fair to good; a wide range of weights and densities is being reported

Mexico (into South Texas)

• Stocks are steady
• Quality is good; average weights are lower than California-grown heads

New Mexico

• Production started this week in Las Cruces

Market Outlook

• Expect elevated prices and limited supplies through early May
• Supplies are expected to increase when Mother’s Day demand subsides, leading to lower markets
