Cooler weather in California and Arizona desert regions are reducing yields at the field level.

• Lower yields per acre have reduced availability for processors, driving the general market higher
• East Coast and regional deals have slowed or stopped, with the exception of some southeastern growers
• Record lettuce/leaf markets have encouraged a shift/increase in demand to products like cabbage
• Red cabbage in particular is very limited as acres planted generally lags behind green
