Brussels sprout markets continue to strengthen as increasing insect pressure reduces yields across California growing regions. Markon First Crop and Ready-Set-Serve Brussels Sprouts are available; packer label is being substituted as needed.

• Production is ongoing throughout the Salinas and Santa Maria growing regions
• Increasing bug pressure, including diamondback moth activity, is impacting harvestable acreage and contributing to lower overall yields
• Warmer temperatures are expected to keep pest pressure elevated through the early fall months
• Demand is strengthening, contributing to tighter supplies and increasing markets
• Supplies remain sufficient to meet current demand, but availability is becoming more limited
• Quality overall remains very good; minimal seeder and discoloration have been reported in some lots
• Expect elevated pricing to continue into September
