Production is increasing in multiple growing regions, driving down green bell pepper prices. Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green and Red Bell Peppers are limited; packer label is being substituted as needed.

Green Bells

• Volume is increasing in the Midwest as more states start production
• Northeastern harvesting is increasing
• Supplies are increasing out of Western North Carolina
• Volume is climbing in the Fresno and Ventura, California regions
• Yields are steady out of Central Mexico (crossing into South Texas); quality is good
• Expect lower markets over the next several weeks

Red Bells

• Production is low in Bakersfield, California; prices have stabilized
• Central Mexico is shipping limited supplies; quality is average
• Canadian greenhouse stocks are snug due to recent heat waves
• Prices should remain steady but high over the next week
