Baby broccoli supplies are extremely limited due to late-season weather interruptions. Markon First Crop (MFC) and Ready Set Serve (RSS) Broccolini^® Baby Broccoli is limited; packer label is being substituted as needed.

• Rain, hail, and lower temperatures in Salinas and Santa Maria have reduced yields this week
• Quality ranges from fair to poor; insect pressure, premature flowering, discoloration, and pith are being reported in most lots
• Plants are experiencing accelerated breakdown, reducing the number of harvests each plant can produce and severely reducing overall volume
• Strong demand and limited supplies are keeping markets active
• Expect supplies to remain scarce for the next two weeks, at minimum, before quality improves and volume rises
