UPDATE: AVOCADOS SUPPLIES

August 13, 2021

Avocado supplies are extremely limited as Mexico’s crop wraps up. The California and Peruvian seasons are also winding down.

Mexico

  • Mexico’s “Flora Loca” (crazy flower crop) volume is 20-25% lower than last year
  • 60-count and larger sizes will be less plentiful through late September
  • Quality is very good with very few No. 2 grade fruit available
  • The “Adventajada” (early fall crop) is expected to begin by mid- to late September; stocks will be dominated by 60-count and larger sizes

California

  • Supplies are diminishing
  • The season will end over the next 2 to 3 weeks
  • Quality is good; all sizes are extremely limited

Peru

  • Production will end over the next 3 to 4 weeks
  • Quality is good; all sizes are extremely limited
