All West Coast-based value-added processors successfully moved production from Yuma, Arizona, to Salinas, California, over the weekend. All Markon brand processors have reported an overall smooth transition with no significant equipment challenges. All began building finished-product inventories on Saturday and continued through Sunday. As with any transition, we will expect some minor disruptions for loading today through this week, but as of this morning, all processors are in a solid position to ship without any major concerns today/tonight. Markon will communicate any supply/fill rate challenges if they emerge.
With the exception of cabbage, which is still being grown and processed in the desert region, all broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, and tender leaf raw products are now being sourced from the Salinas Valley.
