FROM THE FIELDS: LIGHT RAIN IN THE DESERT REGION

February 23, 2022

The Arizona/California desert region received light rainfall overnight and some areas continued to see a light sprinkle this morning. Only about .10”-.15” total rainfall is expected. Field conditions are not excessively muddy, but we can expect some minor delays and harvesting crews are taking measures to keep boxes as clean and dry as possible.

Following today’s showers, the forecast calls morning low temperatures in the upper 20°s-to mid-30°s Thursday and Friday, February 24-25 with widespread lettuce ice expected. Markon inspectors will be monitoring quality and supply outlook closely and will update further as needed.
