Temperatures in the Arizona/California desert growing region dipped as low as the mid-30s this morning, causing sporadic lettuce ice to develop on some crops. Harvesting delays of 30-90 minutes have been reported by some shippers.
More significant lettuce ice is anticipated for the tail end of this week following a low pressure system that could bring .10” – .25” of rain late Tuesday into Wednesday, December 14-15. Markon inspectors will be monitoring conditions and reporting back with the latest from the fields.
