The brief Huron, California growing season is in full swing. The small number of shippers that use this region as a bridge from the Salinas Valley to the desert region have been harvesting mostly iceberg lettuce, with a small amount of green leaf and romaine, for the past two weeks. Markon inspectors have been evaluating supplies and report that quality, weights, and stands are good; insect pressure is minimal. Markon First Crop (MFC) Iceberg, Romaine, and Green Leaf are available. This area is expected to have supplies for another two to three weeks.

Salinas Valley lettuce supplies continue to be challenged by unfavorable weather, resulting in disease pressure, yield loss, and light weights. MFC Iceberg, Romaine, and Green Leaf are limited.
