FROM THE FIELDS: DESERT WEATHER UPDATE

December 10, 2021

Parts of the Arizona/California desert growing region received a light sprinkle last night, December 9, and may see light showers this morning with only .10” or less of total rainfall expected. No harvesting or loading delays are expected today, but much cooler temperatures and moderate to heavy lettuce ice is forecast through the weekend. Temperatures warm slightly next week due to approaching low pressure system.

Light showers may return the evening of Tuesday, December 14 with another .10” – .30” possible. Markon inspectors are monitoring field conditions and will update further on how the current weather events may impact supply or quality in the days ahead.
