FROM THE FIELDS: DESERT REGION HARVEST DELAYS

January 12, 2024

Another round of lettuce ice will delay harvest for row crop vegetables in the desert region today, as morning temperatures dipped into the low-to mid-30°s. Gradual warming will follow over the next few days, but ice conditions are still expected through Sunday, January 14 and temperatures will remain near-to below average through next week.

Markon continues to work with suppliers on minimizing disruptions throughout the current weather challenges and securing the best product available for Markon orders. More updates will follow as the effects from multiple days of freezing temperatures start to develop.
