Light to moderate lettuce ice developed in some areas of the Arizona/California desert growing region this morning after temperatures dipped into the low to mid-30°s. Lettuce and other desert row crops will experience harvesting delays up to two hours or until plants have thawed sufficiently; some loading delays may also occur as a result.
The forecast calls for windy and overcast conditions on Tuesday, February 1 which will lessen the likelihood of significant ice, bu it could return later in the week once the cold winds subside.
Markon inspectors are monitoring conditions and will update further as needed.
