UPDATE: MEXICAN BORDER BLOCKADES

November 24, 2025

Numerous border crossings throughout Mexico are experiencing full protest blockades, interrupting the supply of produce. The protests are being held in coordination by freight carrier organization The National Association of Carriers (ANTAC), which wants better road security, along with The National Front for the Rescue of Mexican Agriculture (FNRCM), looking for more competitive prices for farmers.

  • The flow of produce across the southern U.S. border came to an abrupt halt this morning due to Nationwide protests
  • Multiple border crossings are affected, including blockades in Nogales, South Texas, and Baja
  • Mexico exports many produce items during the fall season, including bell peppers, carrots, chiles, cucumbers, squash, strawberries, and tomatoes, to name a few
  • Most shippers increased their inbounds last week before Thanksgiving; expect minimal impacts unless the blockades last longer than today
  • Markon will continue to monitor and report on Mexican border delays
