UPDATE: Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence is currently located approximately 600 miles southeast of Bermuda and will move northwest towards the Carolinas over the next three days.
The storm is expected to strengthen as it moves west towards North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
The National Hurricane Center has forecast Florence to become a major hurricane (Category 3 or 4) by the time it makes landfall Thursday, September 13
Florence may become only the fourth Category 4 hurricane to make landfall north of Georgia
The Fall Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Squash, and Tomato seasons are under way in Western North Carolina; the Michigan season is winding down
Expect eastern vegetable production to be heavily impacted by significant rainfall and strong winds
