Supplies are increasing this week, which is weakening the market; however, next week’s expected rain is expected to hinder harvesting crews in Ventura County, California and hold markets relatively steady.

  • Markon First Crop Celery is available
  • Supplies remain below normal levels, but are steadily increasing in Coachella, Oxnard, and Santa Maria, California
  • Next week’s rain is expected to reduce volume
    • Production crews will be slowed by poor field conditions
    • Barring rain the week of February 1, supplies will increase and markets will weaken quickly
  • Florida supplies are becoming more plentiful; the overall size profile is larger than in past weeks
  • Overall quality is excellent in all growing regions: stalks are firm with deep color
