FOOD SAFETY UPDATE: BrightFarms Recalls Produce Due to Foreign Material

This update does not apply to any Markon First Crop, Ready-Set-Serve, or Markon Essentials products.
 
BrightFarms of New York, NY is recalling produce (packaged salads and basil products) due to potential contamination with foreign material (metal fragments). The affected products were distributed to Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle, Peapod and Martin’s Food Markets in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Affected produce may also have been distributed via the Capital Area Food Bank. 
 
There have been no reported illnesses or injuries associated with these products at this time.
 
No Markon products are included in this recall nor did Markon purchase any of the implicated packer label products from BrightFarms. Please remember to physically check your inventory to ensure none of the affected products are in your warehouse.
