It’s not just pizza anymore. With the rise of UberEats, Postmates, Grub Hub, et al, brick and mortar restaurants must re-examine their to-go menus to maintain their reputation for quality and ensure that bottom lines do not suffer.
The increase in delivery-minded customers has the potential to hurt or help your business and the trend is not going away (in fact, it is increasing exponentially). The sooner you address your current systems and adapt accordingly, the more your prospective profits could rise.
Each item on the menu must be assessed for delivery/arrival potential and adjusted to ensure the diners’ experiences are as close to in-house as possible.
Invest in special packaging when possible; many ramen shops are packing the noodles and broth separately to be mixed upon arrival so the ingredients don’t become soggy.
