Packing Line Supervisor, Broetje Orchards
“I’m from Zapotiltic, Jalisco, Mexico, where I studied accounting. I came to the United States in 1990 and started working for Broetje Orchards lining and packing apples. After a few months, my supervisor gave me the opportunity to learn on the computer, make changes off line, set the variety of apples, etc. Eventually I rose to my current position as packing line supervisor, where for the past 27 years my experience has been very gratifying. Our company not only because provides top quality fruit to this great nation, but also for several parts of the world.”
“As a young child, my grandmother had a garden in our backyard and while she was cooking, she would ask me to go pick jalapenos, tomatoes, and squash. That garden made a big impression on me and my life. I believe that is where my passion for food and fellowship developed. On Sundays our family would gather at my grandparents’ home to eat and laugh. I believe that no matter what happens in life there is no better feeling than gathering around the dinner table with your family and friends.”
