Quality Control Inspector, First Fruits
John Crispin
“Growing up in a small town of Walla Walla, Washington, I never fully understood the process it takes for produce to reach consumers until I started working in the orchards. I learned where the apples grew and how to plant trees, then I got to see the trees bear fruit. I saw the many hands and stages apples go through in order for people to enjoy high quality fruit. Now I get to inspect every apple we ship as a Quality Control Inspector. It’s been a journey to get me where I am today, but I wake up knowing I enjoy my job.”
“As a young child, my grandmother had a garden in our backyard and while she was cooking, she would ask me to go pick jalapenos, tomatoes, and squash. That garden made a big impression on me and my life. I believe that is where my passion for food and fellowship developed. On Sundays our family would gather at my grandparents’ home to eat and laugh. I believe that no matter what happens in life there is no better feeling than gathering around the dinner table with your family and friends.”
