“Apart from growing up in Monterey County, where crops are literally outside your doorstep, agriculture has been a way of life for my family. My grandfather was a sugar cane and corn grower, so naturally my passion for the agriculture industry was imbedded in me at a young age. Some of my fondest memories as a child come from riding through my grandfather’s fields in his white Chevy pickup and checking his crops while wearing his big sombrero. These memories sparked the curiosity and excitement that led me to pursue a career in agriculture. My career kicked off in 2005 as a Research & Development Technician for Taylor Farms, where I learned fundamental leadership skills. This led me to other positions within to the industry and eventually back to Taylor Farms in 2018 as the Quality Assurance Manager. I am very fortunate to be able to sink my roots into a great company like Taylor Farms, where the culture thrives on the same values I was taught.”
“As a young child, my grandmother had a garden in our backyard and while she was cooking, she would ask me to go pick jalapenos, tomatoes, and squash. That garden made a big impression on me and my life. I believe that is where my passion for food and fellowship developed. On Sundays our family would gather at my grandparents’ home to eat and laugh. I believe that no matter what happens in life there is no better feeling than gathering around the dinner table with your family and friends.”
